Ukrainian photographer Vyacheslav Mishchenko uses macro lenses to photograph tiny creatures in nature we often forget to look at. In this series of photographs Mishchenko creates a beautiful universe where even snails are beautiful and majestic. We’re just still incredibly amazed at how crisp and clean this pictures look, showcasing the Ukrainian photographer’s immense talent. What do you guys think?
There’s no better way to recap a week than taking a look at the videos that went viral in those 5-7 days. You can really tell a lot about what’s been happening in the world and how stupid (or not) people were in those past days. We’ve got to say our favorite is either the kid who completely ruined his chances at Wheel of Fortune (THREE times) or the kid who got what he was asking for when he tried to take a selfie….Which one is your favorite? (The Daily Beast)
So with the beginning of season four of HBO’s Game of Thrones just around the corner we have been geeking out more than ever. But it’s okay, we’re not the only ones! Is it just us or has the internet lately been swarmed with an abundance of Game of Thrones pictures, spoilers, interviews and actors? Well, we’re not ones to complain, especially because it has given us so much to look at while we wait for Sunday. And we’ve come across some sure gems.
In the batch of recent Game of Thrones gems is Israeli graphic designer and illustrator Mordi Levi who reimagined Game of Thrones houses as companies. You guys know we are suckers for good graphic design and branding tie-ins, so we couldn’t help but share his work. We can’t even tell which one is our favorite. We’ll add them to this post so that you can decide for yourself. Let us know which one you like better and if you’ll be tuning in this Sunday to watch the first episode! (Design Taxi)
Were you a fan of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles growing up? Well, if you were, you are in luck, or maybe not. Our not-so-favorite director Michael Bay of the Transformers series, is helming the live-action project of the famed cartoon series. Michael Bay is pairing once again with bombshell Megan Fox to give us a film that most men are doomed to like. Even if we don’t love him. Let us know what your thoughts on this adaptation. We’re not 100% sold but we know we’ll end up going to watch it. (The Dissolve)
Okay, we know this video is a little bit long but we swear it’s worth it. Those are the 1001 movies you MUST watch before you die, and as crazy film fans we can say that we agree with a lot of those. We have also seen a lot of them, but we are excited to cross out the ones we haven’t seen yet. Movie marathon this weekend, anyone?
Boy are we proud of our dancers at A Step In Time School of Dance. We recently just got a hold of the video of their presentation at a LA Clippers x Miami Heat game and they are truly remarkable. We had to share!
The Huffington Post published a great read on how creative people work differently than others. As creatives ourselves, we highly identified with several of the items in the list. As they so eloquently phrase, “While there’s no “typical” creative type, there are some tell-tale characteristics and behaviors of highly creative people.” A few of the characteristics they cite are daydreaming, observing and seeking new experiences. Check out their article for the full story and let us know if you identify with any of the characteristics they mention. (Huffington Post)
In honor of the biggest awards show of the year which happened yesterday, we decided to hit you guys with a compilation of the top five most surprising Oscar winners. It’s a crazy top five, and we promise we’re not lying!
#1 Eminem - Eminem isn’t that much of a surprise, it’s just hard to remember him after his long hiatus. The rapper took on the statute for Best Song in 2002, with “Lose Yourself.”
#2 Jim Rash - We are 100% sure you wouldn’t have guessed that Dean Pelton from Community won an Oscar in 2012 for Best Adapted Screenplay…would you?!
#3 DJ Paul & Juicy J (Three 6 Mafia) - From the series “What? How? What is the Academy doing?” Considering the options were pretty limited for Best Song in 2005, we’re still baffled those guys have an Oscar and poor old Leo doesn’t…
#4 Nicholas Cage - The poor guy’s career turned into some sort of industry joke when he started acting in some of the worst movies in Hollywood, but he was a great actor at one point in his life. So much so that he took an Oscar home for Best Actor in his role in Leaving Las Vegas in 1995.
#5 Cher - Cher took home the golden statue for Best Actress in 1987. The singer-actress’ performance in Moonstruck was so great she beat out powerhouses Glenn Close, Meryl Streep and Holly Hunter!
We can’t lie, we’ve been anxiously waiting for the return of scheming politician Frank Underwood, played by the talented Kevin Spacey. Netflix gave us all a huge Valentine’s Day present last Friday when they released the entirety of Season 2 for instant viewing. We’re trying to pace ourselves and drag out Season 2 too as much as possible, but it’s hard. The new season starts with a huge bang and you’re pretty much forced to keep watching. We don’t want to give any spoilers away but wanted to share our excitement. Are you guys fans of Netflix’s original series? Let us know in the comment section. We’re curious to see what you have to say about Frank and his ways.
After looking at these pictures, we are pretty sure photographer Dariusz Klimczak is the reincarnation of surrealist painter Salvador Dalí. The polish photographer uses digital manipulation to populate vast landscapes with imaginative and surreal characters, surely inspired by the works of Spaniard Dalí. Klimczak is an experienced photographer, having worked in the industry for over 30 years, he is now a freelancer and tours the world with various exhibitions. (Bored Panda)
